President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Seth Amoama, to act as Chief of Defence Staff.
The appointment according to a press release signed by Eugene Arhin, Acting Director of Communication at the presidency is effective from February 5, 2021, pending consultation with the yet-to-be-constituted Council of State.
“This appointment has been made following the completion of the tour of duty and subsequent retirement from the Ghana Armed Forces, on 5th February 2021, of the current Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. O.B Akwa. The President has expressed his gratitude to him for his dedicated and meritorious service to the Ghana Armed Forces and to the nation,” the statement said.
The Fashion Show for the 69th annual Brown County Youth Fair took place Monday, where the Top Models in the Junior, Intermediate and Senior Divisions were announced, based on their performances on the runway.
Earning Top Model in the Junior Division was Cyndea Wilson of Brownwood, Early’s Taylor Simpson was selected Top Model in the Intermediate class, and Early’s Lillie Brandstetter received Top Model accolades in the Senior class.
Due to Sunday’s snow storm, the rest of the judging in the clothing division was pushed back to Tuesday and those award winners will be revealed later this week.

This year has been a real roller coaster and even though it has been a little crazy, the Make It with Wool contest was held on Nov. 7 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus Showcasing beautiful outfits and accessories using wool. Luckily, it was a beautiful day so that gave people the opportunity to go outside and enjoy a few minutes of sunshine and a moment without a mask. Joining us as commentators for the fashion show were Emma Preston the Ohio Wool Ambassador and Charlotte Waldron, National Senior Winner from Ohio. They both provided a presentation about their experiences over the past several months.

K1 and P1 pupils will need to report to their new schools on Jan 4, 2021, with K2 and P2-P6 children reporting the next day.

SINGAPORE - All Ministry of Education (MOE) kindergartens as well as special education, primary and secondary schools will start the school year from Jan 4, while junior colleges (JCs) and Millennia Institute (MI) will start on Jan 11.
But for kindergartens and primary schools, only Kindergarten 1 (K1) children and Primary 1 (P1) pupils need to report to their new schools on Jan 4, while Kindergarten 2 and Primary 2 to Primary 6 children will remain at home and report to school only on Jan 5, MOE said on Friday (Dec 18).

SINGAPORE, Dec 18 The reopening of Ministry of Education (MOE) kindergartens and primary schools next year will be staggered to ensure the effective roll-out of Covid-19 safe-management measures.
In a statement today, MOE said that when the school term begins on January 4, only Kindergarten 1 and Primary 1 pupils have to report to school. If necessary, only one parent or guardian will be allowed to accompany each new pupil to the school on their first day.
