Bouna Festa! It’s time for the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Festival
HAMMONTON - The 146 annual Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Festival will be held from July 15 to 20.
The carnival opens at 6 p.m. each night. The food stand will be open from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. weekdays and beginning at 5 p.m. each night.
This year’s festival will feature plenty of Italian food, beer garden, entertainment, rides, games and more.
Feast Day, July 16, activities include Mass, a procession of saints from Third and French streets through Hammonton begins at 4 p.m., and a fireworks display at 10 p.m.
When local businessman Ken Harrison resurrected Promise Keepers in 2019, one of his goals was a return to the inspiring stadium rallies pioneered by former Colorado University football coach Bill McCartney, who founded the men’s ministry in 1990.
But COVID-19 had other plans for 2020, and last year’s event went virtual, reaching over 1 million men from 84 countries and all 50 states
Harrison recently announced that PK will host its first live stadium gathering in years at AT&T Stadium in Dallas on July 16-17. A publicist says 30,000 men have registered.
The event will also be simulcast to churches. A publicist initially said churches could view the event for free, but later clarified that churches will pay $99 to view the event, with real-time translation into Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Portuguese, Bengali, and Russia.

When I was in school, I remember watching the weatherman on TV talk about the potential of snow. My mom and dad were probably hoping it wouldn’t snow, but I would always hope for the biggest blizzard known to man. Especially if I hadn’t done my homework!
Sometimes it would snow. Sometimes it wouldn’t. But life went on.
These days I don’t get too worked up about snowstorms. The focus of my hope has shifted to bigger things. Things with longer lasting ramifications.
I hope (and pray) my children develop a relationship with Jesus. I hope for a restored relationship with an estranged family member. I hope that my health will hold out and that our world will experience revival and peace.
