Daniel Andrews gets yet another 'blank cheque in the state of Danistan'

Daniel Andrews gets yet another ‘blank cheque in the state of Danistan’02/03/2021|3min Sky News host Paul Murray says Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has received “yet another blank cheque” to lock the state down despite the fact millions of Australians will be getting vaccinated. The state of emergency powers gives the Victorian government the ability to lockdown the state in response to the coronavirus and provides the legal tool to impose restrictions such as curfews and stay-at-home orders. The bill passed the Victorian upper house on Tuesday after the government successfully negotiated with the crossbench including the Greens, the Reason Party, and Animal Justice.

He said contradictory statements are being made which put people "at risk, very anxious and in many cases, severely out of pocket". "You can't put in regulations overnight that disadvantage thousands upon thousands of people," he said. Mr Kennett said he has called for a royal commission into the way the pandemic has be
