Former Victorian opposition leader Matthew Guy has slammed Premier Daniel Andrews for “playing to people’s fear and emotion” after the government passed its state of emergency extension.

Former Victorian premier Jeff Kennett says the whole concept of the Andrews government locking its state border to Victorians en masse is just "inhumane".
Thousands of Victorians have been stranded in New South Wales and are applying for exemptions to go home, as the Victorian government retains a hard border to the state.
The Victorian government has stood by its decision to enact the hard border to New South Wales in a bid to stem the spread of COVID-19.
Mr Kennett told Sky News he feels "dismay and disappointment" for those people "who have been caught up again with a government and their bureaucracy".
He said contradictory statements are being made which put people "at risk, very anxious and in many cases, severely out of pocket".
"You can't put in regulations overnight that disadvantage thousands upon thousands of people," he said.
