OMNO Review - Follow the Path of Light Into the Unknown (PS4)

OMNO is a passion project for developer Jonas Manke. He single-handedly created his Journey-inspired puzzle platformer over the course of five years. While he previously has game experience animating characters for State of Decay 2, his first title has headed in a completely different direction as players set off on a gentle journey of discovery rather than a harrowing journey of survival. Having arrived through a strange portal of light, a mysterious character known as a staff bearer finds himself in a strange fantasy world abandoned by humans during the Great Departure.  There is no explanation for why he is there, but there is only one way forward through the swamp. The linear path teaches the basics of jumping, all why trying not to drown. There are very few consequences for making a mistake; every death results in respawning at a checkpoint mere feet away from his demise and he has unlimited lives. You have to help them thrive again by building shelter, growing food (mainly potatoes) and expanding your colony to other planets. On the way you will n

What are we all playing this weekend?

Published on 15 May, 2021 I ve started making a small pug dressed in a sailor outfit after several months not doing any crochet. In related news, carpet beetles got into my yarn stash, so now my living room smells of mothballs. I hope the weather this weekend is nice because otherwise it s going to be a long couple of days. But in other news, happy kissing aliens weekend, everyone! Maybe if every single person in the world buys Mass Effect, it ll buy more runway for the devs doing Dragon Age 4! A Christmas miracle! That s how these things work, right?? But some of us are actually playing other things, it turns out.
