Elderly can get daily visits at nursing homes in Gibraltar from today
Only vaccinated and tested visitors will be allowed into the elderly residences

FAMILY and friends will now be able to visit their elderly relatives at Gibraltar nursing homes every day of the week as long as they are vaccinated.
With local COVID-19 active cases still at zero, Elderly Residential Services have now taken the decision to expand visits from just four days a week.
Medical chiefs have, however, imposed strict rules for visits, which can only be made from 1pm to 6pm.

Those still wanting to be vaccinated must register interest before Friday to secure doses, says GHA class= headline >Anyone who has not yet been vaccinated against COVID-19, and who wants to be, must register their interest before the end of this Friday, as the remaining doses of the vaccine are now limited. This is according to the Ministry of Health, which says there is no guarantee that those who register beyond this date will be able to access the vaccine in Gibraltar in the foreseeable future.
The Ministry of Health says the vaccination programme is now in its final phase, with category 9 people - cross-frontier workers - being given the remaining first doses before the ICC public vaccination centre switches to giving only second doses before closing on the 27th May.
