Twilight hit theaters on November 21, 2008, readers of Stephenie Meyer s original four-volume
Twilight Saga had already fallen in love with bookish Bella Swan and her cold-skinned, warmhearted boyfriend Edward Cullen on the page. Director Catherine Hardwicke s blue-tinted adaptation perfectly captured the drizzly magic of Meyer s forbidden interspecies romance, but more importantly for the franchise, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart quickly won fans over with their onscreen portrayal of Edward and Bella. Successfully casting Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), the Cullen family, and Bella’s Forks High School friends was no small feat either yet, in retrospect, it’s hard to imagine anyone else in the roles. The Helena Public Schools Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Friday to authorize Chair Luke Muszkiewicz to begin negotiations with Rex Weltz for the district s superintendent position.
Weltz is the current principal of Rossiter Elementary School and the former superintendent of Polson Public Schools, a K-12 district of 1,650 students. Weltz began work as Rossiter s principal in fall 2020. He has been a professional educator in Montana and Alaska since 1994 and also served as principal of Polson High School, Forks High School in Forks, Washington and Knik Elementary School in Wasilla, Alaska. He holds a master s degree in educational leadership from National University in California.
