The governor, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, at a courtesy call to his office by the Service Chiefs, said the state had been receiving cooperation from the Nigerian Army through the General Officer Commanding the 2nd Division in the state.
In attendance were the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor; the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Isiaka Oladayo Amao; the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo; Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General SA Adebayo; and the General Officer Commanding Second Mechanised Division Ibadan, Major General Anthony B. Omozoje, among other senior officers.

Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor has assured that the Nigeria Armed Forces is working assiduously to end all issues of insecurity facing Nigeria.
Irabor gave this assurance when he led service chiefs on a courtesy call on Governor Seyi Makinde at Oyo Governor’s Office, Ibadan, on Thursday.
Other service chiefs who accompanied Irabor on the visit included Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Zubairu Gambo; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao; outgoing General Officer Commanding, 2 Division, Major General Anthony Omozoje.
Clinging onto President Muhammadu Buhari’s charge upon appointing them Service Chiefs, Irabor, in his remarks, assured of collaboration with other security agencies to address all issues of insecurity.
“It was scary to see that people could actually break into our nation s Capitol, he said.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff were also troubled by the insurrection and sent a letter signed by military leadership to all active duty service members, National Guard, and reservists denouncing the actions of the rioters and condemning the violence on Capitol Hill.
They called the storming of the Capitol a direct assault of the U.S. Congress, Capitol Building, and our Constitutional process.”
The Joint Chiefs also made it clear that Joe Biden was elected the 46th President of the United States and will soon take office.
