Afghanistan: 2021 Begins with Assassination of A Journalist
Adil was killed in an attack by unknown armed men, in Dara-e-Taimoor village on the outskirts of the city

Head of Sada-e-Ghor Radio, Journalist and civil society activist, Bismillah Adil Aimaq was killed in unknown gunmen attack in Feroz Koh city, the central part of Ghor province, local confirmed to media.
Mohammad Aref Abir, a spokesman to Ghor governor, said that Adil was killed in an attack by unknown armed men, in Dara-e-Taimoor village on the outskirts of the city.
Adil is among many journalists like Rahmatullah Nikzad, Yama Siawash, Elyas Dae, Malala Maiwand, and Fardin Amini were killed in different incidents since November 2020.
Kabul, Jan. 1, 2021 An Afghanistan journalist, Bismillah Adil Aimaq, was on Friday assassinated by some armed men in Dara-e-Taimoor Village on the outskirts of Feroz Koh in Ghor locality, reports said.
Adil, who was also a civil society activist in Ghor, was the sixth journalist to be killed in two months.
Mohammad Aref Abir, Ghor governor’s spokesman, said Adil, who was the head of a local radio station, Radio Sada-e-Ghor, was killed in the attack by the armed men, TOLO News reported.
On Dec. 21, 2020, Afghanistan journalist Rahmatullah Nikzad, who was also the head of journalists’ union in Ghazni Province, was killed in an armed attack.
Targeted Killings to Be Discussed in Talks: Stanekzai
Chief negotiator Masoom Stanekzai on Friday said the issue of targeted attacks on journalists is a serious matter and will be raised in the talks with the Taliban when they resume on January 5.
“This is one of the serious issues that we need to raise and follow,” Stanekzai said.
Six journalists have been killed in various incidents in the country over the last two months.

This comes a week after a journalist in Ghazni, Rahmatullah Nikzad, who was head of the journalists union in the province, was killed in an attack by armed men outside his home in Ghazni city.
