A WOMAN who was filmed deliberately coughing on a mum-of-ten with cancer has been jailed for 30 days after showing no regret.
Debra Hunter, from Jacksonville, Florida, was also fined $500 for the incident inside a homeware store in June last year.

Video of the coughing attack went viral after victim Heather Sprague began filming Hunter when she began arguing with shop workers.
Heather, who is a brain cancer survivor, had to wait three days for a Covid attack after being coughed on by Hunter. ....

News Corp has become the biggest outlet to secure a deal with Facebook, under which the news business will be paid to provide content to the platform’s Facebook News product in Australia.
Mumbrella understands Nine Entertainment Co has also signed a letter of intent with the social media business, but it would not comment, only confirming that it continues to have “constructive and fruitful discussions with Facebook”.
“When we have anything to announce we will do so to the ASX, as is appropriate,” a spokesperson continued, mirroring Nine’s approach to its Google letter of intent, which the business has still not formally announced. ....

Facebook 'prioritis[ing] other countries for investment' unless code is changed

Facebook has confirmed it is “prioritis[ing] other countries for investment until we understand the impact” of the News Media Bargaining Code, and will not roll out Facebook News in this market unless the legislation is changed.
In a blog post published this morning,  on the company’s website the social media platform’s local managing director, Will Easton, claimed that, in its current form, the proposed law could “expose Facebook to more than 1,000 standalone commercial arrangements”.
