Building by-laws implementation can cut fire, cylinder blast incidents

July 3, 2021 LAHORE: Punjab Emergency Service Department (PESD) Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer has expressed his grave concern over the increasing number of fire emergencies and cylinder blasts incidents in the month of June 2021. The PESD DG said that Emergency Service/Rescue 1122 rescued 95,324 victims while responding to 98,113 emergencies across Punjab, including 2,165 fire emergencies and 16 cylinder blast incidents during the last month. He said the increasing number of fire emergencies could be reduced in the country as well as in Punjab through implementation of the building bye-laws and Fire Safety Codes of Pakistan. He also emphasised on use of certified, quality and well-kept LPG cylinders and UPS, separately covered and caged outside the kitchens or cooking areas or houses to prevent cylinder blast incidents.

11k rescuers to perform Eid holiday duties Meeting noted that 11,000 rescuers will perform Eid duties in three shifts at 650 key points across Punjab APP May 07, 2021 LAHORE: As many as 11,000 rescuers have been asked to stay on high alert during Eidul Fitr holidays to ensure prompt response to emergencies in Punjab. Punjab Emergency Service (PES) Director General (DG) Dr Rizwan Naseer reviewed the arrangements in a meeting with all district emergency officers (DEOs) held at the Rescue Headquarters on Thursday. The DEOs briefed the DG about the emergency plans, including the strategy to deal with Covid-19 emergency, finalized in all districts in consultation with deputy commissioners (DCs).

Maid commits suicide LAHORE :A 17-year old maid committed suicide by hanging herself in the Defence C area on Tuesday. The victim was identified as ‘M’ served as a maid in the house of Dr Kamran who hailed from Vehari. Police shifted the body to morgue. 3 Killed in Motor-Accident Due to Speeding Dumper Another accident in Lahore. 1SHARES Three young men were crushed to death in a motor-accident with a speeding dumper near Gora Qabristan in Lahore. The three deceased were onboard a motorcycle that collided with the speeding dumper. According to Express Tribune,  rescue teams and police officials rushed to the scene when the accident was reported. Unfortunately, the young men had succumbed to their injuries by then. ALSO READ Police identified the victims of the fatal motor-accident as 20-year-old Omar, 18-year-old Zahid, and 21-year-old Ali. All three young men were residents of Corporation Chowk Outfall Road.
