Three people were injured in an accident that happened March 13, shortly after midnight. According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper, David Laff a woman since identified as Catherine Poppell, 18, of Long County plowed into a group of teenagers who were gathered before a bon fire in the 300 block of Persimmons Blvd NE.
Laff reported that Poppell was involved in an altercation with her boyfriend when she entered a family member’s 2010 Toyota Corolla. Poppell allegedly hit the gas and drove onto the lawn of a residence directly across the street striking a parked Nissan Altima. Poppell then continued driving into the path of a group of people congregating around the bon fire and standing near the Nissan.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WFIE) - In a non-conference doubleheader hosted by Western Kentucky, the University of Evansville volleyball team rallied for a 3-2 win over Saint Louis before falling to WKU by a 3-0 final on Sunday at E.A. Diddle Arena.
Match 1 – Saint Louis
Alondra Vazquez and Melanie Feliciano recorded 20 and 17 kills, respectively, to lift the Aces (2-2, 1-1 MVC) to a 3-2 victory over Saint Louis. Allana McInnis notched 26 assists while Cecilia Thon accounted for 14 helpers and 15 digs. Laura Ruiz led the Purple Aces with 17 digs while Hannah Watkins posted a solo block and four block assists. Chloe Bontrager and Kate Tsironis also had four block assists. Saint Louis (0-2) was led by a 22-kill game from Maya Taylor.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Tasked with playing with just eight available players, the University of Evansville women’s basketball team battled to a 70-63 overtime victory over Indiana State on Wednesday night inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
Four Aces finished in double-figures with sophomore Abby Feit pacing Evansville with a game-high 19 points, adding nine boards, four blocks, and four assists. The four blocks tied a career-high for Feit, who has reached the mark three times in her collegiate career. EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A rampant end to the first half provided fuel, but the comeback effort fell short as the University of Evansville women’s basketball team fell to Bradley, 77-57, on Saturday night inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
Returning to her high-scoring ways, sophomore Abby Feit recorded 20 points to lead the Aces on the evening, adding seven rebounds in an impressive effort. Joining Feit in double-figures was sophomore Sydney Thurwalker with 10 points, contributing six rebounds for Evansville. Finishing with a game-high 27 points, Bradley’s Gabi Haack led all scorers and narrowly missed a triple-double with eight rebounds and six assists.
Led by a stifling defensive effort, the University of Evansville women’s basketball team secured its third-straight victory in a 66-60 win over Miami (Ohio) on Saturday afternoon inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
