Youth lead charge in rallies against Asian American hate
On Saturday, two rallies led by the youth were held in the Bay Area. Both calling for a stop to the violence against Asian Americans. Candese Charles reports. Stand for Asians! Stand for Asians!
This rally cry that could be heard down the streets of San Mateo Saturday came from 13-year-old, Ashlyn So. I saw all of these Asian elders getting hurt and getting pushed and I did not like that and I thought it wasn’t ok, So said. So, I had to do something about it.
Since some local jurisdictions, both large and small, have changed from at-large to district elections, often as a result of a legal challenge, there has been a steep price to pay.
