The new board’s impetus for inclusiveness led its vice president, Meja Pannell-Tyehimba, to form the Chocolate Rainbow Theatre Company, whose mission is to tell authentic stories from the LGBTQIA community.

The results bring three new industry professionals to the board of directors.
President Kat Cook, a member of Vallejo’s Commission on Culture and Arts, has more than 30 years in the music industry and event management working in Carnegie Hall and The Apollo, to name a few.
She is the founder of Wild Grass Arts & Entertainment. Her emphasis is on developing a cohesive plan for the theater building’s rehabilitation and renewal.
Vice President Meja Pannell-Tyehimba is a writer, producer, director, theater artist, administrator, filmmaker and educator with more than 40 years of experience.
Treasurer Richard Spann remains in his post. His focus has been on securing the Mira as a historical landmark. He holds a master’s degree in e-business.
