BJP MP Lockett Chatterjee’s car – and those associated with the press – were attacked on Saturday morning by a mob of angry locals at polling station number 66 in Hooghly district of Bengal, where polling The fourth phase has an unstable and tense assembly election Started at 7 am.
In scenes shared by news agency ANI, a black sedan – believed to be Ms. Chatterjee’s car – is toppled down by a sea of raging men and women – many of whom are without masks, and social distinctions Show no care for – shouting in Bengali and pointed fingers at car occupants.
EC Suspends Officer After EVMs Found at TMC Leader’s House in WB
Calling it a ‘violation of transport protocol’, the EC had suspended the Presiding Officer, along with three others.

The Election Commission has suspended a sector officer in West Bengal’s Howrah district after the latter – who was in possession of a reserve electronic voting machine (EVM) – spent a night at the residence of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader, reported news agency ANI.
While the commission says that the “intactness of all seals” have been checked and the said EVMs and VVPATs have been taken out of service, it has assured of ‘severe action’ against all involved in the incident.
