Candice Evans to lead the team in Consumer Protection’s Geraldton office

Consumer Protection’s presence in the region increases ability to deal with local issues
Consumer Protection has appointed a new senior regional officer to service the region which covers Geraldton and an area as far as Carnarvon, the northern Wheatbelt around Moora and remote communities such as Wiluna to the east.
Candice Evans has previously worked at the Housing Authority (now the Department of Communities) where, amongst other roles, she was the Area Manager in Halls Creek coordinating public housing services for mostly indigenous clients. Prior to that, she was an intelligence analyst for the Department of Justice, identifying safety and security risks for Court users.

As the results of the city council election were coming in Saturday night, a familiar storyline took shape. There were plenty of intriguing political subplots building up to the election. And now we have weeks of limbo as we await a staggering six runoff races that will determine the make up of the next council. But the big takeaway was low turnout.
