Here are 30 great spots for some cold-weather trekking.
Pennsylvania’s Trail of the Year for 2021, the 38-mile Delaware & Hudson Trail in Lackawanna, Susquehanna and Wayne counties, will appear on many lists of prime trails this year. Tracing the former corridor of the Delaware & Hudson Railway, which primarily carried anthracite coal out of the Lackawanna Valley during the second half of the 19th century, the D&H Trail is open to motorized and non-motorized users, including walkers, bikers, equestrians as well as snowmobilers.
And, in that same vein, the Trail of the Year in 2020 was the 46-mile Ghost Town Trail in Cambria and Indiana counties as Pennsylvania’s Trail of the Year. Launched in 1994 as a 12-mile segment, Ghost Town Trail was the first trail in the state constructed with transportation enhancement funding. Powerball ticket worth $1 million sold in Union County

MIFFLINBURG, Pa. A Pennsylvania Lottery retailer in Union County sold a Powerball ticket worth $1 million for the Saturday, January 9, drawing.
The ticket matched all five white balls drawn 14, 26, 38, 45, 46 to win $1 million.
The Sheetz location on East Chestnut Street in Mifflinburg gets a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

LOCK HAVEN The Clinton County Commissioners put a bow on 2020 at their final meeting of the year.
All three commissioners said they looked forward to turning the page to 2021.
Commissioner Angela Harding noted that Clinton County’s COVID-19 numbers continue to rise. She asked that all residents remain vigilant when it comes to battling the virus.
“Please continue to practice the mitigation efforts … social distancing, wearing masks and washing your hands,” Harding said. “Our COVID numbers if you pay attention to those things are rising. Some days aren’t as bad as others. I know the Department of Emergency Services has told us that a lot of the data that we see are ‘data dumps’ from the Department of Health. So, sometimes when the days are extremely higher than others, it’s the Department of Health sending that information in one big package.” ....
