RANTZ & RAVEZ-I will begin with the most recent and amazing statement made by LAPD Chief Michel Moore in supporting and in fact defending LA County District Attorney George Gascón who is facing a Recall after a short time as the elected District Attorney.
It has been the long-standing practice and tradition that the LAPD Chief remain out of politics and not get involved in supporting or challenging any elected or appointed official facing election to office – local, state, or federal. For some unknown reason, Chief Moore has crossed the line of being impartial to openly state the following: “Working as a team, I know that we can restore the sense of safety and the security that we all strive for here in this great city. . .So I stand here today and applaud the district attorney’s efforts.”
RANTZ & RAVEZ-The long list of associated problems throughout California are related to the actions or inactions of elected and appointed officials of our city and state.
The fact that California lost one Congressional seat for the first time in state history and other states are picking up additional seats reflects the fact that businesses and residents are moving away in large numbers. This is due to some logical reasons I will explain in this edition of RantZ & RaveZ.
California spent $182 million on an outreach program encouraging everyone including immigrants to participate in the most recent Census Count. It is estimated that 70% of California’s households participated in the Census. Even with all the effort and funds pushed by officials, the state could not hold onto the 53 congressional seats and associated influence in Congress.

LOS ANGELES, CA Sacramento County s chief prosecutor has informed Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon that her office will no longer grant him jurisdiction over any crimes that involve Sacramento County because of Gascon s special directives that have been criticized by victims advocates as too soft on crime.
Gascon campaigned on criminal-justice reform, but many were taken aback by the lengths he went to when he announced upon taking office that prosecutors would no longer pursue the death penalty, try juveniles as adults, seek cash bail for misdemeanor and non-serious, non-violent felonies, or add gang and other enhancements to criminal complaints.
