McGaw told the team not to be afraid to create these partnerships with law enforcement and highlighted how it’s beneficial to have a detective there to build rapport and a trusting relationship with the victims.
Many times when the task force is interacting with a victim or survivor for the first time, the victim or survivor is very resistant to work with a detective because they don’t always align themselves with law enforcement in a positive light, Rheinschild said.
