Trial date may be set in Hunt County murder case

Courtesy Collin County Jail A trial date is still pending in the case of a former Wolfe City Police Department officer who has pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder in connection with the shooting death of a resident of the city eight months ago. Shaun Lucas remains in custody at the Collin County Jail, being held in lieu of $1 million bond. Lucas was reported to have shot the unarmed Jonathan Price on the night of Oct. 3, 2020. While 354th District Court Judge Keli Aiken originally scheduled a May 3 hearing to receive discovery evidence in the case, court records indicate the session is now set as an announcement hearing Friday morning, which could mean a tentative trial date may be set.
