Authorities located the body of Garland Blanton during the search in rural Doniphan County. He was deceased, according to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson. Mr. Blanton’s death is considered to be the result of natural causes while he was mushroom hunting, according to Wilson. The Kansas Highway Patrol assisted in the search for Garland Blanton Thursday morning with the use of a helicopter and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks assisted in the search with the use of K-9.
