U.S. Government Announces Major Re-Commitment to Clean Cooking and the Clean Cooking Alliance By: CCA April 22, 2021 Press Release
WASHINGTON, DC, April 22, 2021 At the Leaders Summit on Climate hosted by President Biden, the U.S. government announced today that it is resuming and strengthening its commitment to the United Nations Foundation’s Clean Cooking Alliance. The pledge includes support to help countries achieve their climate ambitions through expanding access to clean cooking.
Approximately 2.8 billion people still lack access to clean cooking solutions, costing trillions of dollars a year in damage to health, the climate, and local economies. Changing the way families cook their food, by using clean fuels and stoves, will help slow climate change, drive gender equality, reduce poverty, and provide enormous health benefits.

KATHMANDU: Experts of the agriculture sector have underlined the need for mechanization and commercialization of the agriculture sector and paying attention to good storage facilities and marketing to enhance the production of agro-based products.
In a webinar organized today by the Nepal Renewable Energy Confederation of Nepal (RECON), the participants also opined that we could yield abundantly from agriculture provided we consider factors of equipping human resources with skills development and devise hassle-free procedures for the farmers to obtain grant and loan.
They also opined that agro-production could be augmented considering the usage of organic manure, reusing kitchen waste to produce manure, solar-powered irrigation facilities (renewable energy) in those places lacking regular irrigation facilities among others.
