Columbia Amnesty Program for warrants: how does it work

If you have an outstanding bench warrant or other penalties before the City of Columbia Municipal Court, now may be the time to resolve your case without being arrested or going to jail. The court s Spring Forward Amnesty Program allows citizens an opportunity to voluntarily resolve outstanding cases in a fair and efficient manner. Here s how it works: Every Friday in May, beginning on May 7, anyone with outstanding bench warrants or unpaid fees or fines who voluntarily shows up at one of the amnesty locations will have the opportunity to settle their case(s) without being arrested. 

Columbia Municipal Court introducing Spring Forward Amnesty Program this May

ABC Columbia Apr 26, 2021 4:36 PM EDT COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– On Monday, the Columbia Municipal Court announced that they will implement their new “Spring Forward Amnesty Program” on every Friday this May. The City of Columbia says this program will allow citizens with outstanding bench warrants or fines to settle their cases without being arrested. Officials say those who appear voluntarily at one of the amnesty locations will have the opportunity to warrants vacated and fines either reduced or converted into community service. This program will begin May 7. Authorities say this program does not apply to those charged with driving under the influence, first offense or domestic violence, third degree.

Help benefit Transitions Homeless Center this June through the fifth annual Chefs Feast

ABC Columbia Apr 7, 2021 1:41 PM EDT COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– On June 13, Synovus Bank is presenting the fifth annual  Chefs’ Feast to benefit Transitions Homeless Center. The event, chaired by TakoSushi restaurant group owner Kevin Goldsmith, will feature a multi-course meal along with wine pairings explained by sommelier Cary Goldsmith. The is scheduled to take place at the Palmetto Club, from 6-9 p.m. This year marks Transitions Homeless Center’s 10th anniversary. Winners of Volunteer Leader Awards will be recognized and there evening will also feature a small, culinary-based silent auction. All funds raised through sponsorships and tickets will go directly to benefit Transitions Homeless Center, thanks to presenting sponsor Synovus Bank. The organization provides aid to 350 homeless men and women every day.
