SWEET SPRINGS BOARD OF ALDERMEN APPROVE EVENTS TO BE HELD

The Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen approved some event requests during its most-recent meeting. According to unofficial minutes, the board approved a request by the Sweet Springs Restoration Foundation to hold a block party on July 23-24, which is scheduled to include a wine walk and entertainment. Aldermen voted to close Miller Street from Main to Marshall Streets and to grant a liquor license. Sweet Springs Home and School also was approved to hold the school carnival in the park from 4 to 6 p.m. on May 15. It also includes closing the Main Street entrance to the park from 3 to 7 p.m.

Police: New York woman charged with DWI in Hoboken after injuring woman

Hudson County View By John Heinis/Hudson County View Barbara San Martin, 42, of New York, New York, was charged with DWI, assault by auto, reckless driving, and leaving the scene of an accident, according to Police Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera. On Saturday, at approximately 12:16 a.m., Officers Michael Straten and Marvin DeJesus responded to the area of 100 Marshall St. on a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. It was also reported that the motor vehicle had left the scene of the accident. Upon arrival,Straten spoke to the victim who reported the following: as she was loading her skies through the driver’s side of her vehicle, a car traveling south on Marshall Street collided into her skies, pinning her between the skies and the car door. The vehicle did not stop and kept traveling.

(WWBT) - Capitol Police say a 21-year-old Richmond man has been arrested for a shooting at a state parking deck on Dec. 4. Capitol Square Police were called at 9:59 a.m. on Dec. 4 about possible shots being fired at the state parking deck at Seventh and Marshall Streets, just north of Capitol Square. After arriving on the scene, officers located at least one shell casing. According to the investigation, Hakeem Whitaker, 21, of Richmond, was part of a construction crew doing repair work at the deck and had gotten into an altercation with a fellow employee.
