Deputies from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office reportedly arrived at the scene and found two paddle boards in the river. The bodies of two deceased victims were later pulled from the water, Sheriff s Sgt. Marvin Combs told the outlet.
The victims have since been identified as Dave Schenderlein and his 17-year-old daughter Sarah of Eugene, Oregon, according to a GoFundMe page.

A passerby called 911 around 3:25 p.m. Wednesday to report a watercraft stuck in debris east of Interstate 5. Eugene Springfield Fire and Lane County Sheriff s deputies responded and located two paddle boards nearby.
They later pulled two people from the water. Both were deceased, according to Sheriff s Sgt. Marvin Combs, who was on the scene.
Local and county rescue personnel found a 60-year-old man, later identified as Eugene resident David Schenderlein, and a teenage girl dead in the water, a sheriff s office news release said. The sheriff s office is not identifying the teenager because of her age.
