BROCKTON Growing up on the east side of Brockton, navigating through life and playing soccer at Brockton High School, Timothy Silva had no idea he would one day go to college and become a chef who cooks for celebrities in New York City.
Silva, 29, started his entrepreneurship journey at a young age working at Boxer Boulevard, the Brockton High School store run by DECA, an international student business club.
Coming from a family of fifth-generation entrepreneurs, Silva said leadership came naturally to him. Every generation in my family has their industry. For example, my father started up many restaurants and my grandfather started up his businesses. We try not to focus on what the generation before us did but find our passion and pursue that. My family encourages us to create a business out of something we love, Silva said.
