The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District is organizing COVID-19 vaccination clinics at the Abilene Convention Center – when the state releases doses here. We have completed a state survey letting them know of our capacity to conduct mass vaccination clinics and are continuing to plan and prepare for this, but do not have a time frame of when we can expect to receive additional vaccines, public health director Annette Lerma said.
The Texas Department of State Health Services announced Thursday that next week it will direct most of the COVID-19 vaccine received from the federal government to large providers who can vaccinate a total of more than 100,000 people, according to a news release.
