The 18th-ranked Lyon College womenâs basketball team and Williams Baptist squared off for the second time over a six-day span on Tuesday night in Becknell Gymnasium. WBU earned a 70-65 victory in the first meeting as the Scots avenged their loss and got the best of the Lady Eagles in the second go-around, 63-51.

Behind a career-high 25 points from Paige Kelley, the 22nd-ranked Lyon College womenâs basketball team opened up the home portion of its schedule on Thursday night with a 77-35 demolition of Stephens College in American Midwest Conference play.
The Scots improved to 3-0 (3-0 AMC), while the Stars fell to 0-3 (0-3 AMC).
Lyon got off to a fast start and took a 13-3 lead midway through the first quarter after a three-pointer by Mari-Hanna Newsom. The Eagles defeated the William Woods Owls 61-59 for their first conference win of the 2020-21 season in a game that went down to the wire.
The Eagles had a slow start to the game that saw them facing a 32-26 deficit at halftime. The Eagles were able to make strides at the beginning of the second half, but could never find a way to take the lead. In fact, the Eagles werenât able to take the lead until there was 2:17 left in the game, when Shackeel Butters hit two free throws that gave them a one-point lead.
