STEAMBOAT SPRINGS Community members who previously commented on the U.S. Forest Service’s draft decision for Steamboat Resort improvement projects are invited to share their opinions again during a 45-day objection period.

. Ericka Dickerman, mountain sports ranger with the Forest Service, said there were about 100 original comments.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS Rudi Schnackenberg was many things a skier, a coach, an instructor, a father but he was perhaps foremost a lover of life.
“He touched the lives of all he met in a positive and lasting way. He was openly happy with life; his whistle, smile, quick humor and twinkle in his eye gave evidence to the love he had for life and all his friends,” said Ruth McClelland, Schnackenberg’s daughter.
Schnackenberg, a longtime Steamboat Springs resident, died in 1985 at age 64. His legacy has since lived on.
With planes parked by the pandemic, Southwest Airlines starts seasonal flights to Colorado ski resorts
Beginning Saturday, Southwest will fly direct from Dallas Love Field to Hayden and Montrose, Colorado to Steamboat and Telluride ski resorts. Author: Jason Whitely Updated: 6:29 PM CST December 18, 2020
DALLAS For the first time in its history, Southwest Airlines is launching seasonal service to Colorado ski resorts using planes that have been parked by the pandemic.
“Quite frankly we wouldn’t have had an opportunity to do this in a normal environment but since we have some idle planes and some of our great hospitality warriors out there on the front lines, we’re able to add them into this and add more destinations because we have the capacity to do it,” said Jason Van Eaton, Southwest Airlines Senior Vice President of Governmental Affairs & Real Estate.
