Few races are as glamorous as the
Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, or the Historic Grand Prix of Monaco if you’re not so linguistically inclined.
The historic motor racing event, which sees heritage automobiles from the annals of Formula racing as well as the history of motorsports more broadly duke it out around the iconic Circuit de Monaco, typically takes place two weeks before the proper Monaco Grand Prix. Organized two weeks ahead of the F1 Grand Prix of Monaco, the 12th Monaco Historic Grand Prix brought the F1 cars and the vintage racing cars to the famous Monaco streets last weekend, 23-25th April.
The biennial Grand Prix de Monaco Historique weekend marks one of the most popular events in classic car racing. Enthusiastic vintage car owners, racers, and spectators gather to look forward to the visual feast brought by the racing series.
As the event s official sponsor, the Swiss luxury manufacturer launched a new limited edition Monaco model. This limited edition of 500 pieces has a particular dark green color scheme and a rare modern interpretation of the Monaco series, which will surely win the heart of many watch lovers.
It’s race day in Monaco for the 12th edition of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique after two days of practice for motorsport’s most iconic cars ever, many of them from bygone eras of Formula 1.
Practice, qualifying and racing takes place on the same circuit than the Formula 1 Grand Prix with the charming old cars that offers a travel back in time.
Organised every two years by the Automobile Club of Monaco (ACM) the event also attracts some of the sport’s great drivers such as Jean Alesi, Rene Arnoux and Emmanuele Pirro while cars driven by the likes of James Hunt, Niki Lauda, Jim Clark and many of the sport’s greatest names.

Tag Heuer has announced a green version of its celebrated Monaco watch. The colour, associated with vintage cars and motor racing, is apt.
It is being released to mark the brand’s position as official sponsor and timekeeper of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, the biennial motorsport event that takes place this weekend. Tag Heuer
Originally released in 1969, Tag Heuer’s Monaco is one of its most admired watches. Despite being named after the famous Grand Prix race in the French Riviera city-state, the brand hadn’t served as an official timing sponsor of the event until last year, when it took over from Rolex.
