Breaking News | Recent News Protesting plateau varsity student dies after falling off moving vehicle

Views: Visits 17 A student of the Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, who embarked on a protest with his colleagues and reportedly fell off a moving vehicle, has died after sustaining injuries. The deceased, Isreal Emmanuel, a 100 level student and the class rep of the Mathematics Department of the university, died on Monday evening from the head injuries sustained when he fell off the car. The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Yohana Izam, confirmed Emmanuel’s death in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday. The vice-chancellor however described the death of the student as very sad and unfortunate.

Five Ebonyi varsity students faint in exam hall stampede

Punch Newspapers Sections Edward Nnachi, Abakaliki No fewer than five students of the Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, slumped at the permanent site of the institution during a stampede inside the examination hall on Wednesday. The stampede occurred as students rushed to access the school’s ICT centre, venue of the exam. A source in the institution said the university had adopted the Computer Based Test for some General Studies (GST) courses. GST courses are taken by all students of the institution. According to the source, the hall where the examination was to be taken was too small for the mammoth crowd of students that were to write the course.

SaharaReporters learnt that the company’s General Managing Director, Michel Pucheros, wrote the letter, asking God to strengthen the university and families to “bear this great loss” but failed to mention any compensation for the bereaved families and injured students.
