The Hillsdale College softball team flew down to Dahlonega, Georgia, last weekend to play two doubleheaders against top Division II teams.
The Chargers split with the University of West Florida, and lost both games to the University of North Georgia, finishing the weekend 1 – 3.
“We were very grateful for the opportunity to play this weekend,” junior team captain and outfielder Reagan Gensiejewski said. “But this weekend doesn’t show what we can do as a team, and I think the rest of the season is going to be more reflective who Hillsdale softball actually is.”

The Hillsdale College softball team will begin its season today in Toledo, Ohio, with an exhibition game against Tiffin University at 11 a.m.
Head coach Kyle Gross said he has been forced to reschedule this game twice because of the opponents’ cancelations due to COVID-19.
“Hopefully that’s not a theme for the season,” Gross said. “A team could be out any week due to COVID, so I think that will be one of the biggest challenges, but we’re prepared to play. If we’re healthy and if there’s a healthy team and a safe venue to play, then we’re going to be there.”
