Investigators discovered the child’s mother was paying Perez-Domingo $40 a week to take the child to daycare and the suspect picked up the girl around 6:30 a.m. Friday. The mother told police she noticed there wasn’t a car seat in the suspect’s vehicle for her daughter, but Perez-Domingo, 43, told her she was driving to her home nearby first and would then place her daughter in a car seat.

Crews recovered their remains a week ago. On Wednesday, he was in disbelief when he learned a judge approved the sale of the property where so many perished. Nicole Lagesfeld and Luis Sadovnic had lived at Champlain Towers South’s unit 804 in Surfside. Their families were outraged when Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Michael Hanzman approved the sale of the land for commercial use.
