ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Thursday issued the schedule for the upcoming Senate elections, according to which, polling will be held on March 3 to elect new members of the Upper House of the Parliament upon the retirement of 52 senators on March 11.
As per the schedule, candidates can submit nomination papers on February 12 and 13, at the offices of the returning officers. The list of nominated candidates will be posted on February 14, 2021.
The schedule has been announced with still a question mark on the mode of election to be adopted, though the government has already promulgated a presidential ordinance for open ballot, while it has already sought guideline from the Supreme Court of Pakistan on this count.

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Thursday issued the schedule for the upcoming Senate elections, according to which, polling will be held on March 3 to elect new members of the Upper House of Parliament upon retirement of 52 senators on March 11.
According to the schedule, the candidates can submit nomination papers by February 12 and 13, at the offices of the returning officers. ISLAMABAD: Kicking off the provision of nomination papers for the intending candidates of Senate elections on Wednesday (Feb 3), the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said it would unveil election plan for the upcoming Senate elections on February 11. The ECP said that fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities, it will release the election programme for the Senate elections 2021 on February 11, 2021. In this regard, for the convenience of all the prospective candidates, the distribution of nomination papers has been started.
Nomination papers for the two seats of the Federal Capital Territory can be obtained from the Election Commission of Pakistan Secretariat here at the Constitutional Avenue, whereas nomination papers for the provincial seats can be obtained from the offices of the concerned Provincial Election Commissioner at following addresses:
