Ex-Skate Zone property sale finalized for $875K | News, Sports, Jobs

Apr 28, 2021 AUSTINTOWN The former Skate Zone Family Fun Center has been bought for $875,000 by Tennessee-based commercial real estate investment firm Hutton to locate a new car wash. The transaction between Hutton affiliate Hutton Youngstown Mahoning OH ST LLC, and husband and wife Larry and Cynthia J. Maynard for the more than 30,000-square-foot building at 5420 Mahoning Ave. finalized Friday, according to the Mahoning County Auditor’s Office. The roller rink, which also had an arcade and laser tag, among other activities, closed in March. It’s expected the building will remain intact, but repurposed to accommodate the express car wash chain, ModWash, an affiliate of Hutton.

YOUNGSTOWN – The owner of the vacant downtown Gallagher Building said he plans to start work on 36 apartment units in it later this year. Brian Angelilli, owner of YO Properties 23 LLC, said he expects work to start on the apartments in August or September, possibly sooner. For decades, the building housed Cedar’s Lounge. “These are efficiency apartments, not even complete one bedroom,” Angelilli told the city’s board of zoning appeals Tuesday. “They’re intended, for the most part, for single occupants.”
