Barrington Stage Company has announced casting for the season s outdoor productions Who Could Ask for Anything More? The Songs of George Gershwin and the world premiere play, Boca, and a line-up of Broadway stars who will perform in concert under a tent at BSC s Production Center (34 Laurel Street). These productions join four previously announced productions that will play indoors at BSC s Boyd-Quinson Stage (30 Union Street). BSC remains the only Berkshires-area arts organization producing an indoor season, which will follow all best safety practices for artists and audiences.
PITTSFIELD â Debra Jo Rupp will star in the world premiere of Boca, one of two outdoor productions during Barrington Stage Company s upcoming season.
In addition to the two outdoor productions and four previously announced indoor plays on the Boyd-Quinson Stage at 30 Union St., BSC s season will feature a lineup of Broadway stars who will perform in concert under the tent at the BSC Production Center.
BSC kicks off its summer season with the outdoor production Who Could Ask for Anything More? The Songs of George Gershwin under a tent at the BSC s Production Center at 34 Laurel St. Running June 10 to July 3, Who Could Ask for Anything More?, a concert celebrating the work of one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century, will feature: Allison Blackwell, who has appeared in BSC s Ragtime and Broadway s Porgy & Bess ; Britney Coleman, who has appeared on Broadway in Company, Tootsie, and Sunset Boulevard ; Alan H. For this reason, in 2011, Barrington Stage Company was trying to find a way to brighten the winter lives of their patrons.
The result was the start of the 10X10 New Play Series. Itâs a night of ten original plays that take approximately ten minutes to perform. The hope was it would be a one-off diversion that would keep actors busy and audiences entertained.

Ten years later, it is an annual festival and one of the most popular events the theater produces. Itâs so popular that despite the pandemic 10x10 is still taking place this year. It has been pushed back a month and is offered March 11-14 and 18-21.
