The natural gas storage report from the EIA for the week ending April 30th indicated that the amount of natural gas held in underground storage in the US rose by 60 billion cubic feet to 1,958 billion cubic feet by the end of the week, which left our gas supplies 345 billion cubic feet, or 15.0% below the 2,303 billion cubic feet that were in storage on April 30th of last year, and 61 billion cubic feet, or 3.0% below the five-year average of 2,019 billion cubic feet of natural gas that have been in storage as of the 30th of April in recent years..the 60 billion cubic feet that were added to US natural gas storage this week was more than the average forecast of a 51 billion cubic foot addition from an S&P Global Platts survey of analysts, but was well below the average addition of 81 billion cubic feet of natural gas that have typically been injected into natural gas storage during the same week over the past 5 years, as well as well below the 103 billion cubic feet added to natural
The Mountain Watershed Association is looking to complete a bridge project that will help complete their hiking and biking trail.
In late 2019, the MWA started working on a project to turn the 19 miles of the abandoned Indian Creek Valley Railroad into a scenic hiking and biking trail known as the Indian Creek Valley (ICV) Trail and the Youghiogheny River Water Trail.
The MWA is a grassroots, community-based non-profit organization that works to protect, preserve and restore both the Indian Creek and greater Youghiogheny River watersheds.
Once complete, the trail will begin in Jones Mills and will end at the Youghiogheny River in Mill Run with the third and final phase to connect with the Great Allegheny Passage.
An interesting development on Friday, when the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) issued a press release to announced that three radical environmental groups have dropped their objections to permits the DEP previously granted for the Mariner East 2 Pipeline. Clean Air Council, Mountain Watershed Association, and THE Delaware Riverkeeper "settled" their appeal of 20 permits issued to Sunoco for the ME2 project. What does it mean that they "settled?" According to the announcement, "The settlement does not alter any of the 20 permits in the appeal." In other words, this is face-saving by the radical groups. They backed down. Gave up. Threw in the towel recognizing that ME2 is about to be completed. In other words, they've lost. And we won! We love saying that.
