KUALA LUMPUR, April 12 Bursa Malaysia snapped its three-day winning streak to close lower today, dampened by selling in heavyweight stocks, led by the telecommunications sector.
At 5pm, the FBM KLCI ended 3.83 points easier at 1,608.42, compared with Friday’s close of 1,612.25.
The index, which opened 1.71 points stronger at 1,613.96, moved between 1,603.41 and 1,613.96 throughout the day.
Axiata and Digi topped the losers list among the 30 constituent counters after falling by 18 sen to RM3.93 and 15 sen to RM4.31 respectively.

KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 Bursa Malaysia ended its first day trading in the second quarter broadly higher after recording a steep sell-off yesterday, with the key index rising 0.58 per cent supported by Top Glove and Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).
At 5pm, the benchmark FBM KLCI advanced 9.13 points to 1,582.64 from yesterday’s close of 1,573.51.
The index opened 6.46 points higher at 1,579.97 and moved between 1,576.33 and 1,586.26 throughout the day.
On the broader market, gainers trounced losers 787 to 354, while 402 counters were unchanged, 581 untraded and nine others suspended.

KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 Last-minute buying in glove counters, TM, Maxis, Genting and Supermax counters helped Bursa Malaysia to end slightly higher today.
The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia (FBM KLCI) inched up 1.01 points to close at 1,624.97 versus Tuesday’s close of 1,623.96.
The index opened 1.65 points higher at 1,625.61 and fluctuated between 1,616.19 and 1,625.67 throughout the day.
On the broader market, gainers surpassed losers 624 to 513, while 441 counters were unchanged, 659 untraded and nine others suspended.
