Philippines, Malaysia discuss West Philippine Sea in reaffirmation of defense cooperation DND
Published April 13, 2021 4:28pm The Department of National Defense (DND) said it discussed the developments in the West Philippine Sea with its Malaysian counterpart as the two countries reaffirmed their commitment in sustaining defense cooperation. In a statement on Tuesday, the DND said it and the Malaysian Ministry of Defense will uphold the implementation of their 1994 Memorandum of Understanding. Both sides shared insights and best practices on their respective response to COVID-19, as well as views on the recent developments in the West Philippine Sea and the Mindanao Peace Process.
The Department of National Defense (DND) and the Malaysian Ministry of Defense vowed to maintain a robust cooperation by upholding the implementation of a 27-year-old defense pact between Manila and Kuala Lumpur.

Mildef Tarantula 4×4 high mobility armoured vehicle (HMAV) is being offered by Malaysian defence company Mildef International Technologies for the Malaysian Army.
A prototype of the 4×4 HMAV was unveiled to the public in February 2021 and work on the first production vehicle is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2022.
