Philippines, Malaysia discuss West Philippine Sea in reaffirmation of defense cooperation DND Published April 13, 2021 4:28pm The Department of National Defense (DND) said it discussed the developments in the West Philippine Sea with its Malaysian counterpart as the two countries reaffirmed their commitment in sustaining defense cooperation. In a statement on Tuesday, the DND said it and the Malaysian Ministry of Defense will uphold the implementation of their 1994 Memorandum of Understanding. Both sides shared insights and best practices on their respective response to COVID-19, as well as views on the recent developments in the West Philippine Sea  and the Mindanao Peace Process.

Mildef Tarantula 4×4 high mobility armoured vehicle (HMAV) is being offered by Malaysian defence company Mildef International Technologies for the Malaysian Army. A prototype of the 4×4 HMAV was unveiled to the public in February 2021 and work on the first production vehicle is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2022.

Fourth and Final LMS For Royal Malaysian Navy Launched In China The fourth and final Littoral Mission Ship (LMS) for the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM or RMN) was launched today at the Wuchang Shipbuilding Industrial Group, in Wuhan, China. 16 Dec 2020 According to an RMN statement, the next phase will be Port Acceptance Test Phase. However, following the worldwide outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic epidemic, the official naming ceremony of this Third LMS was postponed and will be held simultaneously with the ship’s official delivery ceremony scheduled for November 2021. This final LMS will join the 11th LMS Squadron with KD
