In light of the rainy weather forecast this week, the Weatherford College Foundation has rescheduled Taste of Parker County for Thursday, May 27. The event was originally scheduled for May 20.
The event will be held at the City of Weatherford’s Heritage Park from 5 to 8 p.m. and will feature approximately 30 food and beverage vendors an event record. A complete list of vendors is available at www.wc.edu/taste.
All tickets sold for the original date will be honored at the gate on May 27.
Proceeds from Taste of Parker County benefit the Weatherford College Foundation, which funds scholarships and provides other support for the college and its students.

After the 2020 event was canceled due to the pandemic, Taste of Parker County is back and ready to bring more great eats and treats.
This yearâs event is scheduled for May 20 at the City of Weatherfordâs Heritage Park from 5 to 8 p.m. and will feature more than two dozen local eateries.
Proceeds from Taste of Parker County benefit the Weatherford College Foundation, which funds scholarships and provides other support for the college and its students.
After seeing how COVID affected WC students working in the local service industry, the foundation decided that a portion of this yearâs proceeds will go toward a scholarship for WC students working in area restaurants.

As of Thursday, Parker County had 2,014 in phases 1A and 1B who had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 83 who have now been fully vaccinated.
âCurrently, medical personnel, first responders, people over the age of 65 and those with certain chronic medical conditions that put them at increased risk of severe COVID-19 disease are being vaccinated,â Parker County Health Authority Dr. Steven Welch said. âSpecifically, as directed by Texas DSHS, we are vaccinating [Phase] 1A and 1B groups at this time.â
According to the dashboard on the Texas Department of State Health Services website, in Palo Pinto County, 228 people had been given the first dose of the vaccine with two people fully vaccinated as of Thursday.Â

The Texas Department of State Health Services rolled out its Week 2 recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine, which includes six locations in Parker County.
âTexas expects to receive 620,400 doses of COVID-19 vaccine distributed to more than 1,100 providers in 185 Texas counties in Week 2 of vaccine distribution,â according to DSHS. âThe [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] will deliver 460,500 doses of the vaccine manufactured by Moderna and 159,900 doses of the Pfizer vaccine to continue to vaccinate front-line health care workers and residents of long-term care facilities.â
