What Is A Retiree HRA Account? - Canyon News

Canyon News UNITED STATES Hi Toni: My husband is an oil company retiree and two weeks ago, we received a letter stating that his employer is terminating current Medicare eligible retirees group benefits with a termination date of September 30, 2021, when the plan renews. His employer has chosen a specific HRA company to help us choose the right Medicare and Part D options and assist with administering the HRA account that pays our insurance premiums. My husband and I will want an appointment with your office to sort out what is the right option for our retiree benefits. We do not want a major catastrophe by making the wrong decision for our future Medicare needs. Thanks, Becky from Sugar Land area

Medicare and Moving: A Special Circumstances Deep-Dive

Share: Medicare probably isn’t the first thing on your mind when you’re moving. There’s a lot to think about, like packing up the house, settling into your new abode, switching your mailing address, and exploring your new locale.  Eventually, though, you do need to think about your health insurance if you’re a Medicare beneficiary. Many Medicare plans have a limited range within certain zip codes, so you may no longer be in your plan’s service area even if you just moved across town! If you’re moving (or maybe already have!), we have the details you need to get your coverage squared away and get back to those boxes.

Check Your Medicare Coverage Before Traveling Again

WKBT April 22, 2021 5:57 PM Kate Ashford Posted: Updated: Getty Images More than 44 million Americans 65 and older have gotten at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and over 36 million are fully vaccinated, according to recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And with that protection in hand, many are finding that the open road is again calling. A survey earlier this year found that people 56 years and older are the most eager to get back to traveling, with nearly 9 out of 10 saying they’re more ready to travel this year than last, according to the travel site Virtuoso. As well, 82% said they were waiting until they were vaccinated before beginning a trip, and because this age group was prioritized for vaccine delivery, many now have a full vaccine dose on board.
