Alberta Health Services (AHS) is being recognized for its efforts to centralize its health records.
The health authority was named the recipient of the Canadian College of Health Leaders’ (CCHL) 2021 3M Health Care Quality Team Award for Wave 1 of its Connect Care implementation.

Connect Care was introduced in 2019 in order to help AHS move away from an outdated information system that in many ways relied on paper records and notes. Through the implementation of a more modern and comprehensive Clinical Information System (CIS), more and more healthcare providers in the province can now access patient information, common clinical standards, and best healthcare practices through one central access point. In addition, patients will also have better access to their own information, making it easier for them to communicate
