The ongoing lockdown which began on May 12 was supposed to end by May 22, according to an earlier official communication. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to extend the lockdown in the State up to May 30. The CM spoke with the Ministers over the phone and elicited their opinion. After receiving the opinion of the Cabinet Ministers, the CM has decided to extend the lockdown till May 30, it said.

Adding, he said that each patient should be handed over a home treatment kit.  Somesh Kumar on a teleconference from BRKR Bhavan instructed the officials to form teams consisting of municipal staff, an ANM, and at least two ASHA on Sunday. The teams should visit every household in the respective area and hand over kits with medicines and advise the symptomatic persons.

Image Source: IANS News Hyderabad, Jan 19 : Nearly 52,000 public healthcare workers in Telangana were vaccinated for Covid-19 on Tuesday, the third day of vaccination drive. Director of Public Health and Family Welfare G. Srinivas Rao said 51,997 healthcare workers working in Central and state government institutions were vaccinated at 894 session sites across the state. The authorities had planned to cover 73,673 beneficiaries. He said 71 per cent of the targetted beneficiaries were vaccinated. With this the cumulative number of beneficiaries vaccinated in the state rose to 69,625, the second highest number in the country after Karnataka, where 80,686 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in three days.
