Fire damaged 2 houses Saturday in Lexington

Two houses caught fire Saturday in Lexington.  When crews arrived at the first fire on Hankins Drive, they found a kitchen fire that had entered the attic, according to a news release. Firefighters removed part of the kitchen ceiling to extinguish the fire.  After about 30 minutes, responders had put out the fire. The attic and roof were severely damaged from the fire, and the house sustained water damage as well.  No one was injured, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.  The second incident was a small kitchen fire contained to the stove of a residence on Brown Street.

The earlier we discover those and help the child pursue their passion the better. Mount Airy City Schools is committed to supporting every child, every day as they decide whether they need a high school diploma, a two-year degree, or a four-year degree to be in the career made just for them.
