Ocala Regional Medical Center (ORMC) officially broke ground on a $65 million expansion on Tuesday morning as Ocala Health CEO Chad Christianson, Ocala Mayor Kent Guinn, County Commissioner Kathy Bryant and others dug into a plot of dirt with ceremonial golden shovels.

Florida recognizes mental health challenges that first responders face

State Sen. Keith Perry, R-Gainesville, who sponsored the resolution; Florida CFO and State Fire Marshall Jimmy Patronis; Marion County Commissioner Kathy Bryant; and several other dignitaries were in attendance. Officials spoke on the need to support first responders and to remove the stigma from seeking help when signs of mental heath issues arise.
