UNICEF Chad Humanitarian Situation Report No. 01 (Reporting Period: 1 January to 31 March 2021) Format Highlights • During the reporting period, 57,526 malnourished children were admitted and treated in the supported health centres with a cure rate of 94.6 per cent. • 3,245 children had access to psychosocial support sessions, in child -friendly spaces in the provinces of Lac, Borkou Ouaddai and Guera. • 9,740 people (5,064 women and 4,676 men) in need had access to appropriately designed and managed latrines in the province of Lac, Salamat, Logone Occidental and Mandoul • 253,214 people were reached with COVID-19 prevention measures through a partnership with 12 community radios and community relays in the provinces of Mayo Kebbi Est, Mayo Kebbi Ouest, Tandjile, Logone Occidental, Logone Oriental, Mandoul and Lac.

UNICEF Chad COVID-19 Situation Report No. 9 [Cumulative update including the period 26 November to 31 December 2020] Format Situation Overview and Humanitarian Needs As of 31 December 2020, out of the total of 2,141 confirmed COVID-19 cases registered in Chad (the majority being male aged 25-59 years), 37 are children. Of these 37 children, 5 cases have been confirmed in children under five (4 girls and 1 boy), and 32 cases are children aged between 5 and 14 years (20 girls and 12 boys). During this reporting period, COVID-19 reported cases continued to increase steadily, particularly in the capital of N’Djamena. Government launches construction of drinking water supply in Kana, Chad Government launches construction of drinking water supply in Kana, Chad Modified date: Tahani Mahamat Hassane, the Chadian Minister of Hydraulics has launched the construction of a new drinking water supply system in Kana, a locality situated in Moundou, Logone Occidental province. The project will be implemented by GTC Company within a span of 10months. The latter will pump water from the water table to store it in a 100 m3 castle before distributing it to the population through 3 km of pipes connected to six standpipes. Component of a vast program According to Hassane, the drinking water supply project in Kana is a component of a vast program namely the Semi-Urban Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation Program (PAEPA SU MR) that is being implemented in several phases in eleven regions of the Central African country, where water access rates are below 60%.

UNICEF Chad COVID-19 Situation Report No. 8 for 22 October to 25 November 2020 Format Highlights As of 25 November 2020, out of the total of 1,661 confirmed COVID-19 cases registered in Chad (the majority being male aged 25-59 years), 26 are children. Of these 26 children, five cases have been confirmed in children under five (four girls and one boy), and 21 cases are children aged between 5 and 14 years (eleven girls and ten boys). During this reporting period, COVID-19 reported cases continued to increase particularly in the Southern provinces of Mayo Kebbi-Est/Ouest, Moyen Chari, Logone Occidental and Oriental; overall, the number of reported cases increased at a slower pace than at the beginning of the pandemic.
