Hotel Jermyn bar closed
Due to the failure of filing the liquor license transfer, the Hotel Jermyn had to close down its bar on Dec. 13.
The closure came about because the hotel recently had a change in operation from the Hotel Jermyn Co. to the Scranton Hotel Co. During that change, the filing of the liquor license transfer was overlooked.
William Loughran, president of the Scranton Hotel Co., and his attorney, J. Julius Levy, traveled to Harrisburg to meet with the state liquor control board to straighten out the situation.
