The Visakhapatnam Cooperative Bank conducted its 106th Annual General Meeting last week at the MRC Kakatiya Cultural Association Convention Centre, Maddilapalem, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The Chairman of the Bank Chalasani Raghavendra Rao presided over the meeting and said the total business of the bank as on 31.03.2021 is Rs 6,573.01 crore out of which deposits were Rs 3,853.39 crore and advances were Rs 2,719.43 crore.
The total share capital of the bank is Rs 251.40 crore with a total membership of 90,776 and the Net NPA stood at 1.65% as on 31.03.2021. The bank has set a target of Rs 7,558 crore for the financial year 2021-22, informs the press release issued by the bank.

The Visakhapatnam region of the APSRTC has been getting an average occupancy of 38% due to the partial curfew being implemented in view of the second wave surge in COVID-19 cases.
While the number of city services operated on normal days is 711, only 181 services are being operated a day from 6 a.m. to 12 noon in view of the partial curfew. The drivers and conductors are being booked on rotation basis.

Denizens across the city, alarmed by a lack of concrete action to combat the rising second wave of COVID-19 cases, are calling for tight measures to be implemented in order to ensure people follow safety norms, such as wearing masks and maintaining physical distancing.
With no restrictions in place, and feeble enforcement of norms, people moving freely in the city without wearing masks or following physical distancing norms has become a common sight.
