CUTTACK: The 173rd birth anniversary of Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Das was marked with the setting up of the Madhusudan Law University, here on Wednesday. Prof Kamal Jeet Singh has been named its first vice-chancellor. He has been appointed for a period of four years.
The new university was established by upgrading Madhusudan Law College. Prof Sukant Kumar Nanda, who was the principal of the law college, assumed office as the university’s registrar.
The new institution, which has been made an affiliating university, will have jurisdiction over all law colleges in the state except the constituent law colleges of the universities.
