SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio fire investigators are working to determine the cause of a house fire late Tuesday night on the city’s Southwest Side.
The fire was called in around 10:30 p.m. at a single story home in the 5500 block of Aspen Valley Drive, not far from Medina Base Road and Old Pearsall Road.
Firefighters said when they arrived, they found flames coming through a skylight. The fire was put out quickly and without incident, fire officials said.

Two San Antonio men have been indicted on capital murder charges in connection with the shooting of an East Side convenience store owner who died more than a year after the robbery attempt.
The case involving Armando Eric Narvaez and Zion Michael Talavera was among the 219 felony indictments handed down by two Bexar County grand juries, the District Attorney’s Office said Friday.

SAN ANTONIO – Animal Care Services announced a new program on Monday to help reunite pet owners with lost animals by using the power of social media.
ACS officials are calling the effort “The ACS Lost & Found Pet Network,” a closed Facebook group that reviews digital flyers of pets brought into the municipal shelter and cross-referenced with the pets in the care of ACS staff.
