Community Workforce Coordinator Emily Davis gave BEA School Board members an update on last year’s projects.
“It is definitely different planning for the upcoming school year this year than it was last year,” Blue Earth Area superintendent Mandy Fletcher told members of the BEA School Board at their meeting on Monday, July 12. “We do not have to plan for three different learning scenarios this year like we had to last year and we do not have to prepare for social distancing.”

The Blue Earth City Council breezed through business at their latest meeting, which took place on Tuesday evening, July 6. Public comments were the main source of discussion at the meeting, which progressed with impressive efficiency.
Blue Earth Area Schools superintendent Mandy Fletcher opened public comments.
“I am here as a citizen, not as a superintendent,” Fletcher first clarified.
Fletcher then presented an idea to the council regarding a meaningful way to observe Sept. 11 this coming fall.
“I came across a 9.11 kilometer bike ride done by a community to commemorate 9/11 on social media,” explained Fletcher.

BLUE EARTH The 2021 school year is winding down at Blue Earth Area and superintendent Mandy Fletcher had some updates for School Board members when they met Monday evening.
“With the easing of restrictions concerning COVID-19, we will be having our commencement ceremonies inside the gymnasium this year,” Fletcher said. “There will be no capacity restrictions and it will be open to the public. People attending the event will still be required to wear a mask while they are indoors at the school.”
Fletcher highlighted a couple of other dates on the school calendar.
“The final day of school for students in grades K-11 will be June 4,” she commented. “The last day for seniors is June 3. They will have graduation rehearsal on the morning of June 4 and commencement will be on June 6, at 2 p.m.”
